Rawalpindi: Allama Muhammad Iqbal was a great philosopher poet of the Islamic world, who promoted nationalism among the Muslims of the subcontinent and showed them the path of independence.

These views were expressed by President, Anjuman Faiz ul Islam, Mian Siddique Akbar here on Saturday at a seminar held in connection with the Iqbal Day. Faiz ul Islam Model Secondary School and Pakistan Scout and Guide Fellowship organised the seminar.

He said the poetry of Allama Iqbal also provides guidance to the Muslim Ummah in the present era.

Mian Siddque Akbar stressed the children and youth to benefit from the poetry and thinking of the great national poet.

Secretary, Scout and Guide Fellowship, Maqbool Raza, Principal, Faiz ul Islam Model School, Raja Muhammad Younas Satti also spoke on the occasion.

An Iqbal Quiz and national songs contest were also held during the seminar.
